"The Physiology of Water Quality for Koi"


This course is open to any Koi Keeper that has taken K.O.I.-101 or has basic knowledge of water quality, and wants to learn more about water quality as it relates to Koi keeping. This is an intermediate-level course.


Course Description:

Koi that live under good water quality conditions are less likely to succumb to disease and more likely to grow well and spawn. This course is a unique opportunity to learn how and why Koi can thrive in our pond environments and reasons why certain water quality characteristics are important.


Learning Objectives:

Koi Keepers enrolling in this course will become familiar with:

Some of the physiological reasons why certain water quality characteristics are important

Importance of maintaining good water quality

The effects of loading rates on quality of water

How Koi's gill anatomy and structure inter relate with water quality

Required Materials:

All students will need an email address and internet access to the K.O.I. Water Quality forum. All students will receive a disc that works on both PC and MAC. Students also need a computer with CD drive and screen with resolutions of 1024x768 or higher.
