This course is open to any Koi Keeper that has taken K.O.I.-101, and wants to learn more about Filtration. This is an intermediate-level course.

Course Description:

Successful filtration on Koi ponds is remarkably easy to achieve. By sticking to basics throughout the system we can have a successful pond that will provide an environment for our Koi to live a long and healthy life.

The purpose of the filtration course is to provide interested Koi keepers with a fundamental, broad-based insight into the basic principles of Koi pond filtration. Once the principles behind the concepts are understood, better decisions for specific circumstances can be made.

The course will be dynamic, and will evolve as new ideas and concepts become known. The pros and cons of different systems, ideas and products will be discussed. This is a unique course that will teach how to analyze filtration problems in order to determine practical solutions.

The terminology used when discussing the design parameters and functionality of filters and bio-converters

Principles and practicalities of circulation and flow rates

Mechanical and biological filtration and how to achieve efficient systems
